Mr. Joseph Goldenberg was the owner of a dwelling and kosher restaurant located at 63 Elizabeth Street. After selling it in 1925, he purchased a new kosher restaurant at 275 Spadina Avenue. Alterations and additions to the restaurant were made in 1929 and 1934 respectively.

Joseph and Abraham Lewis were the joint owners of the Dominion Printing Company, whose head office was at 259 Spadina Avenue.
Scope and Content
File contains architectural drawings of a two storey residence being converted into a single storey printing facility at 92 McCaul St. for Mr. Joseph Lewis. Several floor plans, sections, and elevation drawings are contained within. Also included is a fourteen page specification booklet detailing the work to be done on the building.

Photograph is of Ben Dunkleman saying Kadish at the gravesite of his mother Rose Dunkelman. Abe Friedgut, Joseph Baratz and a few young children look on.
Joseph Baratz was co-founder of Degania in 1909, the first Kibbutz in Israel.
Mr. Abe Friedgut was the Israel representative of the Zionist Organization of Canada.
Notes
Writing on the back of the photo reads: Shoshana Rose Dunkelman the daughter of Miller from Toronto died [date] devoted all her life to the building of the country only after her death were her wishes fulfilled. This is probably the inscription on Rose's tombstone.

Admin History/Bio
Joseph and Gertrude Schwartz were respectively born in the United States and Austria. They had four daughers, Sylvia, Helen, Fanny and Ruth. Joseph was a furier who eventually set up his own business, J. Schwartz & Co. Ltd., a fur manufacturing company on Madison Avenue. He later became a partner in the Park Plaza Hotel on Avenue Road. Helen married Dr. Isaac Shleser, a doctor of internal medicine, and had two daughters, Gillian and Jan. Ruth was a respected book seller in Toronto. In 1976 Sylvia Schwartz set up a special children's book award to honour her late sister Ruth. In 2004, six years after Sylvia's death, her family changed the name of the award to the Ruth and Sylvia Schwartz Children's Book Awards.

Rabbi Kerzner served as spiritual leader of Clanton Park synagogue from 1973 until his retirement in 2002.
Scope and Content
File consists of an invitation to the installation dinner in honour of Rabbi Kerzner as well as the dinner programme and souvenir book. There also are letters congratulating Rabbi Kerzner on being appointed rabbi and a newspaper article about his previous position. In addition, there are speeches that were likely delivered at the dinner, and a film and sound recordings of the event.

Includes 2 audio cassettes, 1 audio reel, and 1 film reel (8 mm).
Physical Condition
Sound recordings and film reel should be digitized. The cassette tapes are likely copies of the audio reel, however, the audio reel has better sound quality.

Admin History/Bio
Joseph Tanenbaum was born on September 25, 1906 in Poland to parents Chippa Sarah and Abraham. The family moved to Canada. Joe became a bridge builder and industrialist, eventually taking over the family business--Runnymede Steel Construction. Two of the company's major accomplishments were the Burlington Skywayand and the Hamer Bridge in St. Catharines. He was a founder of the YW-YMHA, director of Israeli Bonds, an active member of UJA, B'nai Brith, New Mount Sinai, Jewish Home for the Aged and Baycrest Hospital, Canadian Friends of Yeshiva University, Ner Israel Rabbinical College and Talmud Torah.
Scope and Content
File consists of seven photographs of the JNF's Negev dinner for Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Tanenbaum. Identified in the photographs are Min, Phil, Eleanor, and Michael Givens, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Tanenbaum, Lou Moses, and Nathan Hurwich.

Scope and Content
Joseph Abramsky was born November 23, 1857 in Belorussia, to Chaim Heshel (Zvi) Abramsky and Tovah Pessah Belastosky. He came to Kingston, Ontario in 1890 with his wife Chaia Novack and their four children Ida, Edith, Moses and Katherine. Chaia died in 1897 giving birth to their fifth child, Harry. In 1898 Joseph was married again, to his cousin Geisha (Gussie) Abramson. With her, he had two more children, Samuel and Annette (Anna). Joseph died November 23, 1927 in Kingston.
