Biography
Jack served as a private in the 4th Division Algonquin Tank Corps in the Canadian military in Holland. He worked as a pants presser in Toronto when he first immigrated from Poland in 1927. He lived in both Toronto and Hamilton.

Biography
Lewis’ father immigrated to to Canada in 1906. He contributed to local shuls, and established a Hamilton chapter of the Socialist organization, The Grand Order of Israel. Lewis grew up in Hamilton and attended the Talmud Torah and the Beth Jacob Synagogue.

Biography
Harry Finkelman was born in 1909 in Hamilton and was one of the first Jewish pharmacists in Hamilton. His father was a tailor and an active member of several Jewish organizations including the Hess Street Synagogue and the Talmud Torah. Harry attended the Talmud Torah and was involved with Young Judea and groups/clubs from the Talmud Torah. In this interview he discusses the early history of Hamilton and descrimination against Jews entering the professions.

The Women's Auxiliary held an annual meeting every spring to elect officers and directors, present annual reports and review "any other business that may arise." The auxiliary held one or more additional general meetings each year, which generally took place in the fall and around the time of Hanukkah. These meetings often showcased special guest speakers and performers. They sometimes also included fashion shows or arts and crafts shows.
Scope and Content
Series consists of records documenting the annual and general meetings of the Women's Auxiliary. Included are invitations, reports, meeting agendas and minutes, speeches, financial records, a theatrical script, guest lists, correspondence, newspaper clippings, and photographs.

The 1994 AGM of the Jewish Federation of Greater Toronto was held on 21 June, 1994, in the Leah Posluns Theatre at the Bathurst JCC. At the meeting, outgoing President Bernard Ghert delivered his report, members of the Executive Board and officers were elected and volunteer recognition awards were given out. There was also a preview of the report from the Task Force on Jewish Continuity, Assimilation and Intermarriage. Award recipients included: Judy Gwartz, who was honoured with the Ben Sadowski Award of Merit; Leadership Development Award winners Jill Goldberg Reitman and Les Klein; and Wilfred Posluns, who was recognized with a special Distinguished Service Award. Recipients of the Shem Tov volunteer awards were Lewis J. Moses, Elliott Peranson, Jack Schwartz, Michael Steele, Rabbi Dr. Sol Tanenzapf and Cyrel Troster.

The 1996 AGM of the Jewish Federation of Greater Toronto was held Tuesday, 4 June, 1996, at the Leah Posluns Theatre. The meeting included the elections for the Federation Council, Board of Governors and Board of Directors, a Council Business meeting, president's address and a presentation of the Community Vision Campaign. The Distinguished Volunteer Service Awards were also given out. Recipients of the Shem Tov Awards were Karen Chisvin, David Herlick, Harold Hertzman, Jessica Pelt and Dorothy Shoichet. Heather Milstein and Robert Furman received the Leadership Development Awards, and the Ben Sadowski Award of Merit was given to Jack Chisvin.

The 1997 AGM of the UJA Federation was held Monday, 9 June, 1997 at the Leah Posluns Theatre. Its programme included: elections for Federation Council, Board of Governors and Board of Directors; a video tribute to the late Phil Granovsky; outgoing and incoming presidents' addresses; and a "First Look" at the Legacy Campaign. As well, the volunteer recognition awards were given out to Marlene Axmith, Michael Bowman, Ronald Hoffman, Yvonne Martell, Peter Shenfield and Morley Wolfe, Q.C.; the Leadership Development Awards were presented to Dov Altman and Eileen Silver; the Ben Sadowski Award of Merit went to Julia and Henry Koschitsky; and for the first time, the Phil Granovsky Award for Campaign Excellence was presented, the first recipient being David Engel, Vice-Chair of the Annual Campaign for 1996-1997 and 1997-1998.
Scope and Content
File consists of a programme and photographs from the 1997 Annual Meeting of UJA Federation. The images include a performance by the Leo Baeck Choir, speakers at the podium, and many shots of the award winners. Also pictured in the photographs is Steven Ain. The programme includes a flyer for Mission '98.
