This was a key body which included management and labour in the needle trades. The Commission sent representatives to the displaced persons camps in Europe to recruit workers for the industry: Max E. Enkin (men's clothing), Max Federman (fur workers), Joe Mack and others. Canadian Jewish Congress was closely involved in this project and retained its records.

File consists of photographs documenting Saul Cowan's career as a trustee and then as chairman of the North York Board of Education. Included are group photos of the board and trustees, participants at inaugural meetings and at an Advisory Vocational Dinner. There are also images of Saul's installation as chairman, his visits to a community day care centre and an elementary schools' art exhibit in a library, and the sod turning ceremony for the Education Administrative Centre at 5050 Yonge Street (1969). In addition, there are photographs taken at the openings of Newtonbrook Secondary School, Stanford Fleming Secondary School, and Herron Valley Junior High School. Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson is seen in the Newtonbrook pictures.

File consists of a certified copy of the 1894 marraige certificate of Harris Cohen and Annie Gollom in London, England, a Canadian passport issued to Harris and his wife Annie, a rent book (1902-1904) for an apartment in London England, Harris' "Withdrawal Card" from the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America, and a Nonresident Alien's Border Crossing Identification Card USA issued to Harris. In addition there is a Canadian National Registration voter card for Annie, and a yahrzeit reminder regarding Annie from The Jewish Home for the Aged, Baycrest Hospital sent to a Mr. Cowan, one of her sons.
Physical Condition
The marriage certificate is torn at the top and the body of the rent book has separtated from its cover.

Michael Cowan is the son of Saul and Lillian Cowan.
Scope and Content
File consists of photographs of Michael Cowan as a small child, in a group photo of the Homewood Public School choir, as a teenager in front of the family home on Brucewood in Toronto, and with his wife Nancy in Montreal. There is a commencement programme for his 1957 graduation from Bathurst Heights Collegiate, and programmes for recitals, concerts, and theatre events in which Michael was a participant or composed the music. These include the UC Follies at Hart House, University of Toronto, The Royal Conservatory of Music, Temple Sinai Religious School operetta, and The Jazz Singer at the Saidie Bronfman Yiddish Theatre in Montreal. As well there is correspondence between Michael and family members, and a letter written by him at the age of 11 to the Canadian Arthritis and Rheumatism Society offering a suggestion for the cause of rheumatism.

Scope and Content
This accession consists of electronic copies of documents and photographs related to Isaak Zarembo's military career. The documents include certificates of disability, illness and participation in the war, a discharge booklet, and two booklets that accompanied his medals. The four photographs are of Isaak in his uniform, two of which are attached to documents.
Custodial History
The originals are in the possession of the donor. They were loaned to the Archives for copying and returned to the donor on 22 November 2010 as part of the Russian Jewish war veteran oral history program.
Administrative History
Isaak Zarembo was born in 1925 in Riga, Latvia. He was 16 years old when the Second World War began and joined the 43 Guards Latvian Division, 1st Attack Army in 1943 at the age of 20. He began as a private but later became a sergeant. He participated in battles of the Central Front in Latvia, on the river Ivekstve. He was wounded twice and was demobilized in 1945 due to his injuries. Zarembo received the Conspicuous Gallantry medal, the Order of Glory 3rd Class medal and the Order of Patriotic War 1st Class medal.

Scope and Content
Accession consists of photographs and textual records that document Liya's experience in the Soviet Union's military during the Second World War. Included are photographs of Liya with her battalion, the military portraits of her husband, Vladimir Liberova, and portraits of other relatives. Also included are scans of her military identification card, her certificate of injury, credentials for medals that she earned, her discharge certificate, and a document certifying that she was a member of the defense of Leningrad.
Administrative History
Liya was born in 1923 in Novozybkov, and later moved to Leningrad. She was drafted in 1942 to serve in the Soviet Union's anti-aircraft battalion. She was in the administration platoon where she was responsible for enforcing (?) blackouts, and searching the ruins for survivors to provide medical assistance. She was demobilized in 1945 and participated in the Victory Parade in Leningrad.

Scope and Content
Accession consists of photographs, textual records and military medals and pins that document Iakov's experience serving in the Soviet Union's military during the Second World War. Included is a photograph of Iakov receiving a medal from the Russian Minister of Infrastructure to commemorate the 50th anniversary since the end of the war (1995), a photocopy of a docment certifying that he fought in the war, several thank you cards from the Russian president and the Russian Consulate to commemorate various anniversaries since the end of the war, a certificate documenting the battles Iakov fought in, newspaper clippings of articles written by Iakov about the war, and one photograph of Iakov at the Vaughan Community Center in Toronto with his English language classmates (2000). Also included is one CCCP Red Star pin, one medal to commemorate the 65th anniversary since the end of the war, and one military rank pin.

Accession consists of photographs and textual records that document Boris' service in the Soviet Union's military during the Second World War. Included are two military portraits of Boris, letters from the Russian government to commemorate various anniversaries of the military's victory, Boris' Soviet Union travel pass (1990), and Boris' membership renewal booklet for the Association of Second World War Veterans Newkomers from USSR in Israel (1992-2000).

Administrative History
Boris was born in Belarus, but moved to Israel later in his life. He was 14 when the war began. He served in Frontier Troops, NKVD (predecessor of KGB). Boris was a student in a military college until 1952. He began his military service as a private soldier, but later became an officer. In 1944, he participated in the battles of Eastern Prussia, Latvia and Belarus. He earned the Conspicuous Gallantry Medal and the Order of Patriotic War, 2nd class for his war service.

Scope and Content
Accession consists of textual records and photographs that document the military career and education of Anne Baker Pritzker. Included are photographs of Anne in her military uniform and with her husband on special family occasssions, news clippings of Anne's physiotherapy graduating class, military certificates and certificates of registration with the Ontario government for practicing physiotherapy.
Administrative History
Anne Baker Pritzker (1916-2010) graduated from the University of Toronto's physiotherapy program in 1936. She enlisted with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corp. during the Second World War and served as Lieutenant Physiotherapy Aide in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba. After the war, Anne initially worked at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. In 1960 she began working at Baycrest as Assistant Supervisor of Physiotherapy, a role she held for 22 years. In October 1961 she married Louis Pritzker. She passed away at age 93 on September 20, 2010.
