They were billeted at a former German work camp in Doorn, Holland, which the Queen's Own Rifles liberated on May 7, 1945. Soldiers set up the camp to reference local landmarks in Cabbagetown, a neighbourhood in Toronto. There is sign behind them that reads: The Greatest Little Place in Canada, Cabbage Town.
