- Accession includes records related to Bernard Vise's professional career at The Imperial Life Assurance Company, and notes of condolence from communal organizations, regarding his sudden passing in December 1942. Records include: "Agents' News" published by The Imperial Life Assurance Company of Canada, (Dec 1942); a letter of condolence from the Zionist Organization of Canada (December 1, 1942); a letter announcing the postponement of the building opening of Yeshivah Torath Chaim scheduled for December 6, 1942 as it conflicted with Bernard Vise's funeral; a note of condolence from Toronto Young Judaea and a resolution by its administrative board establishing "The Bernard Vise Memorial Library of Toronto Young Judaea"; a hand written poem in memory of Bernard (Bernie) Vise with thank you note from Mrs. Bernard Vise written on reverse; a Canadian Jewish Chronicle clipping of "Between Ourselves" written by A. B. Bennett regarding Bernard Vise (December 4,1942, page 10); "Survival of the Fittest" article written by Bernard Vise, published in Manager's Magazine, from May-June 1942; correspondence regarding the establishment of the Bernard Vise Memorial Scholarship donated by the YM-YWHA: a copy of life insurance policy beneficiaries (1938); an empty calendar printed by Calvin K. Swartz, C.L.U (1942); and a marriage certificate (ketubah) between Bernard Vise and Cecil Houzer (November 21, 1920). Also included is a Liquidation of the Capital Debt book, 1947 and a tribute to Samuel Kronick in the form of a humourous legal judgement in the "Zionist Court of Honour." Bernard Vise is the "judge", Fred Catzman the "attorney for the people," and Henry Papernick the "clerk of the court."
