- File consists of correspondence in 1937 from John Glass congratulating successful candidates in the Toronto municipal election to positions including the city council, board of control and the board of education. Ralph Day is congratulated on his appointment as mayor of Toronto.
Lastly Glass congatulates Allan Lawrence on his appointment to the provincial legislature in 1967.
- Thanking Glass for their 1937 election victories are members of the board of control, board of education, Mayor Ralph Day, and the assisstant registrar.
- In 1963 Vernon Singer thanks Glass for recognizing his election to the Ontario legislature, and in 1964 Philip Givens, newly elected mayor of Toronto, expresses his appreciation to Glass for his message.

- John Glass was a trustee of the Toronto Board of Education from 1928-1930 and alderman on the city council for four years after that. In 1934 he was elected member of the Ontario parliament for the St. Andrew riding where he served for nine years.

- St. Andrew was a provinicial electoral district in downtown Toronto that stretched from Yonge to Bathurst and included Spadina Avenue and Kensington Market. It was created in 1926 and existed until 1967 when it was merged with an adjacent riding to form St. Andrew: St. Patrick.

Included are letters of congratulations to Glass from politicians, members of the legal profession, hotel executives, businessmen and organizations and institutions such as the Royal Conservatory of Music, the Toronto Liberal Association, and the Zionist Organization of Toronto.
- John Glass thanks those who congratulated him on his victory and assisted his campaign by providing goods and services and publicity. In turn he expresses his warm wishes to cabinet ministers on their recent appointments and thanks prime minister (premier) of Ontario Mitch Hepburn for his supportive message.
- As well there is correspondence concerning invoices for campaign equipment and submission of information regarding receipts and disbursement of expenses. Lastly there is a letter from Glass to the editor of the Der Kampf newspaper refuting what Glass believes is a scandalous accusation of election fraud.
