On one side of all medals is the inscription awarding Givens the medal, and on the opposite side of each medal is the image of a different person. The individuals captured on the medals include: Lester B. Pearson, Lord Thomson of Fleet and the Lieutenant Governor of Canada, W. Earl Rowe.
