- Bernard Cowan was the only child of Jack Cowan (the third of the nine Cowan siblings). Bernard predeceased both his parents, passing away at 68 years of age. He had a notable career in radio and television and was well known as the announcer on CBC's "Front Page Challenge". He was also a founding member of ACTRA (Alliance of Canadian Television and Radio Artists).

- File consists of photographs of Bernard Cowan in the 1950s and 1970s, and with his wife and children in the 1950s or 1960s, as well as a newspaper clipping about his career, obituaries, and a funeral card from Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel.

- File consists of photographs documenting Saul Cowan's career as a trustee and then as chairman of the North York Board of Education. Included are group photos of the board and trustees, participants at inaugural meetings and at an Advisory Vocational Dinner. There are also images of Saul's installation as chairman, his visits to a community day care centre and an elementary schools' art exhibit in a library, and the sod turning ceremony for the Education Administrative Centre at 5050 Yonge Street (1969). In addition, there are photographs taken at the openings of Newtonbrook Secondary School, Stanford Fleming Secondary School, and Herron Valley Junior High School. Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson is seen in the Newtonbrook pictures.
