Admin History/Bio
May Cohen was born in Montreal in 1931 to Sam and Mania Lipshitz and grew up in Toronto. After graduating from high school as the top student in Ontario, she attended medical school at the University of Toronto and again led her class, earning a gold medal for academic excellence. Dr. Cohen first practiced family medicine in Toronto and then joined McMaster University's Faculty of Health Sciences in 1977 to teach and practice family medicine. She co-founded the Women's Health Office at McMaster and also the Women's Health InterSchool Curriculum Committee for Ontario's medical schools. From 1991 to 1996 she served the Faculty of Health Sciences as associate dean of Health Services.
Dr. May Cohen is married to Dr. Gerry Cohen, a semi-retired family practitioner in Hamilton, and is the mother of Eric, Russell, and the late Stuart. She has five grandchildren.

Admin History/Bio
Ellen "Honey" Dworkin, the daughter of Dorothy and Henry, was called Honey by her parents. She was born on 19 June 1912. She married Lewis Raxlan in 1932. They divorced, and she then married Leon Arthurs (d. 14 November 1980) in August 1943. They had two children, Harry and Linda. Harry later became the Dean of Osgoode Law School. She had 6 grandchildren, Robin, Mark, Laurie, Jeff, Josh, and Gideon. She died on 10 May 1991.

Ben Stackle (b. 1 May 1922 - d. 9 January 2008) was born in Toronto to Lazer and Laike Stekel, and had three siblings, Maurice Harry Stekel, Ida Stepak and Anne Steiner. He married Pearl Tureck on 11 July 1943 and had 2 children, Alan and Linda (now Halperin). He has 4 grandchildren, Sasha, Rachel, Jeffrey, and Joshua.
Pearl Stackle, née Tureck (b. 6 May 1922 - d. 30 November 1974) was born in Toronto and had 2 sisters, Molly Segal (d. 22 July 2010) and Goldie Cooper. She married Ben Stackle on 11 July 1943 and had 2 children, Alan and Linda (now Halperin). She has 4 grandchildren, Sasha, Rachel, Jeffrey, and Joshua.

Admin History/Bio
Dr. Judah Goldwasser was a research chemist in the Synthesis and Formations Branch of the Naval Surface Weapons Centre in the United States of America. He earned his PhD in polymer chemistry from the University of Waterloo in Ontario. He married Sol Edell's daughter, Ethel.
Scope and Content
Item consists of the recording of Ethel and Judah Goldwasser's orthodox wedding ceremony and reception. After the procession and kiddushin, Rabbi Mordechai, the groom's cousin, reads the ketubah, followed by the Sheva Brachot, recited by seven different Rabbis and male family members. The recording follows into the reception, at the Four Seasons Hotel, MC'ed by Aaron Weinstock, the bride's maternal uncle. He invites Solomon Rogen, father of Celia Rogen, Solomon Edell's second wife, to make the HaMotzi, followed by the introduction of the head table. After the formal start of the banquet, speeches follow, in English, Yiddish, and Hebrew. Speakers are: Harry Botnick, member of the presidium of Eitz Chaim, who presents a gift on its behalf; Aaron Weinstock; Rabbi Yitzchok Kerzner, of Clanton Park Synagogue; Rabbi Moses J. Burak, Rav of Beth Jacob Synagogue; Moishe Weinstock, the bride's maternal grandfather; Joseph Goldwasser, the groom's father; Solomon Edell, the bride's father; and Rabbi Samuel Schafler, the bride's paternal uncle. The speeches are followed by the Birkat Hamazon, after which more music is played until the end of the recording (interrupted).
