Rose and David Dunkelman, Benjamin Dunkelman's parents, were staunch supporters of Toronto's Zionist community. David was a leader of the Zionist Organization of Canada for more than 50 years, while Rose was publisher and first managing editor of the Jewish Standard, a Toronto-based Zionist magazine she founded with her husband. In addition, she was the first vice-president of the Hadassah Organization of Canada and president of the Hadassah Organization of Ontario. Both fervently supported Zionist projects.
Scope and Content
Sub-series consists of photographs, clippings, obituaries, correspondence and biographical information in connection with Rose, David and Ben Dunkelman. The sub-series contains a pamphlet from the Toronto Zionist Council in 1957 celebrating the council’s 50th anniversary and praising Rose Dunkelman. There are also copies of articles about Rose Dunkelman by H.M. Kaiserman and Meyer W. Weisgal.

There are newspaper clippings relating to Sol Edell’s participation in the Harbord Collegiate’s First Aid team and a University of Toronto graduation photograph. File consists of photographs of J. B. Salsberg at family events. Included is one photograph of Salsberg with his wife, Dora Wilensky, and relatives at an unknown event, and one photograph of Salsberg delivering a speech at Karen Faith (née Salsberg)'s wedding. Karn, the daughter of Molly and Sam Salsberg, was one of four children along with Barry, Stan, and Gerry.

Scope and Content
File consists of family photographs. Included is a portrait of Rabbi Joseph Weinreb (ca. 1900), the first Eastern European Rabbi in Toronto and head of the Galacian community in Toronto, a portrait of Mrs. Weinberg (1921), and a photograph of Sol Edell's girlfriend, Lillian Hollinger at Niagara Falls (1948). Also included is a photograph of Sol's parents and Dolly Edell at an unidentified event, and of Sol's cousin, David Yaffe (third from the left), being honoured with colleagues upon retiring as a tailor from the ladies garment industry.

This file consists of general correspondence in English and Yiddish. Some of the correspondence includes copies of letters written by Katz and to Katz concerning his involvement with various philanthropic organizations (e.g. Jewish Immigrant Aid Society, Mizrachi, Talmud Torah, Batei Avoth, Ezras Torah, St. Michael's Hospital, State of Israel Bonds, Mount Zion Committee, The Toronto Jewish Old Folks Home, JNF). Also included is copy of an advertisement placed in the 25th Anniversary Issue of "Masmid", Yeshiva University publication; a postcard from R. Besser and a blank address book alphabetized with Hebrew letters.
