Alter Rosen was the uncle of Esther Babitch (m. Pike). He managed the Blumenthal General Store from 1915 to 1922, at which point he moved to Chicago. Mr. Blumenthal had another store in Shelburne, Ontario, where he lived.

This item is a copy print and corresponding negative of an exterior view of the Blumenthal General Store in Markdale, Ontario. The children pictured in the photo are Jenny and Johnny Rosen. Standing on the far right is Alter Rosen.

This item is a copy photograph of Abraham Markson on his horse and buggy in front of his store in Alexandria, Ontario. A group of young boys are pictured in front of the store, looking at the camera. The sign on the buggy reads: "Hay, Wood, Grain, Flour Feed, Milling Company, Lowest Prices, A. Markson General Store".
