The meeting took place on the College grounds, at 425 Finch Avenue West, during the construction of its newest school building. The images depict members of the board speaking to the gathered crowd, and individuals receiving plaques and other awards of honour. Pictured in the background is construction equipment and a partially-constructed brick wall of the building, which was completed in 1964.

Accession consists of documents related to UJA Federation committees and the Ontario Jewish Archives. Documents include correspondence, reports, meeting minutes and agendas, promotional material, budgets, and newspaper clippings. Accession also includes a shoe leather hide from Edna Shoe Manufacturing Company Limited that was used at a shoe conference.
Administrative History
Cyrel's grandfather, Charles Troster, owned the Edna Shoe Manufacturing Company Limited, a shoe factory, in Toronto. Cyrel's father and all of her uncles worked there. Names on the shoes were as follows: Celina, Lady Edna, Avanti, Charles (Studio of Canada), and Edna.

Accession consists of a letter from Rabbi Slonim convening a meeting and minutes of meetings of the Rabbinical Welfare Committee over the period.
Custodial History
There is no information on the aquisition of the documents. However, the first letter in the textual records is from Rabbi Reuben Slonim and his name is included on all of the documents in the textual record.
Administrative History
The purpose of the Rabbinical Welfate Committee was (quoting from a document dated March 22, 1950) 'to consider matters that are strictly religious in nature. In matters of a community or public relations nature, the Committee will work closely with Congress.'

Accession consists of minutes of meetings of the War Efforts Committee, various newspapers from the USA (The Sentinel) and Canada (Army Week) and a Jewish Calendar for Men in the Canadian Armed Forces (1941-1942).

Administrative History
One of the main roles of the committee was to raise funds from Jewish communities across Canada for the purchase and donation of furniture. According to a document 'Special bulletin on Furnishing project', Congress is the only organization supplying furniture under an agreement with the Department of National Defence. The Chairman of the committee was Gurston Allen of Toronto.

Admin History/Bio
The Mothers' and Babes' Rest Home was established by Ida Siegel in the mid-1920s under the auspices of the Hebrew Ladies' Maternity Aid Society. The camp was created for poor women or women of modest means with children younger than nine years of age. It was located in Bronte from the mid-1920s to the late-1930s and then moved to Lake Simcoe and became a pay camp, attracting mostly newcomers from Europe.

Item is a photograph of Ida Siegel speaking at a meeting at the Mothers' and Babes' Rest Home in Bronte, Ontario. There are several men and women seated around her and the house can be seen behind them.
