- This item is a photograph of a group of officers in the mobile signals unit stationed in Normandy, France during the Second World War. Pictured are (descriptions in parenthesis were written by Bill Stern on the back of the original photograph):
- Front row, left to right: Dori Landry (the padre of the outfit); Joe Maddigan (farm boy from Saskatchewan -- brother-in-law of Joe [Linachio] -- remember Joe?); Bill Stern (some guy you wouldn't know); Murray Smail (nursing a bottle of beer -- as usual).
- Second row, left to right: Barney Gordon (eating a Compo biscuit -- bread to us in those days); "Jack" Sinclair (our Scottish representative -- has since left this world -- his place was taken by a Canadian lad -- did I tell you that we are now 100% Canadian -- all 23 of us); "Red" Macdonald (our problem child. Red can put away more liquor than any ten men I've ever known); "Taffy" Meredith (our wireless [mub?] from Wales -- has also since left this world to make way for a Canadian); [Dines Pinard?].

- Accession consists of two panoramic photographs of the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union conventions in Atlantic City, NJ. The first photo features a large group of men and women seated at tables at a convention hall in Atlantic City, N.J. Beneath the Union Emblem a banner reads "1900 Golden Jubilee 1950", May 23-June 1. Numerous union banners are displayed in addition to local unions signs. On stage is a speaker behind whom is seated several rows of men and several women. Written in lower left corner is "R1 Central Studios, Atlantic City, N.J."
- The second photo features an outdoor group shot of the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union, 29th convention in Atlantic City, N.J., May 10-18, 1956. The individuals in the first two rows are seated, with the balance standing behand. Lower right corner reads "Central Studios".

- Accession consists of one panoramic photograph of the First Mizrachi Canadian Convention attendees seated at dinner tables. The convention took place on April 21-23, 1939. Identified in the photo is Morris Soberman, future cantor at Beth Tzedec.
- Administrative History
- Mizrachi is an international religious Zionist movement founded in Vilnius in 1902. Bnei Akiva, founded in 1929 is its youth movement. Mizrachi Canada is its Canadian branch.
Allan Soberman is a singer/songwriter/musician and son of Cantor Morris Soberman.
Cantor Morris Soberman was the Ba'al Koreh, Chazan Sheni and bar mitzvah teacher at Beth Tzedec Synagogue in Toronto with additional years spent at Goel Tzedec and the McCaul Street Shul.
