- Admin History/Bio
- Joseph Tanenbaum was born on September 25, 1906 in Poland to parents Chippa Sarah and Abraham. The family moved to Canada. Joe became a bridge builder and industrialist, eventually taking over the family business--Runnymede Steel Construction. Two of the company's major accomplishments were the Burlington Skywayand and the Hamer Bridge in St. Catharines. He was a founder of the YW-YMHA, director of Israeli Bonds, an active member of UJA, B'nai Brith, New Mount Sinai, Jewish Home for the Aged and Baycrest Hospital, Canadian Friends of Yeshiva University, Ner Israel Rabbinical College and Talmud Torah.

- File consists of photographs documenting what may be an UJA Mission to Israel. Included are images of Phil Givens inspecting tanks, touring facilities, visiting border regions, and trying on military apparel. Also identified in the photographs are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Tanenbaum.
