- Descriptive Notes
- The date of the photographs was estimated by Ben Kayfetz, whose relatives appear in the photos. However, the date seems to be incorrect. The photograph of the ladies auxiliary appears to be from the 1940s or early 1950s, judging from the clothes worn by the women. The Mozirer Young Women photograph appears to be from the 1920s or 1930s, and the Mozirer Young Men photo appears to be from the 1920s.

- Administrative History
- The Pride of Israel Sick Benefit Society was founded in 1905 on Chestnut St. for the purpose of providing aid to its members requiring medical support. Each member was required to pay dues to the society and in return was entitled to the following services: doctor's attendance, special medical aid, hostpital care, incurable benefits, a burial plot, funeral arrangements and funeral benefits and sick benefit payments.
- As the society grew, the benefit society formed an "Actzia" or credit society for granting loans and in the 1940s established a synagogue on Spadina Ave. so that its members could pray together. It later moved to Wilson Ave. and in 1969 a building was erected at its current location on Bathurst St., south of Steeles.

The society currently has approximately 150 members covering four generations. The society's board of directors meet monthly and the society holds 4 general meetings each year. Social events such as picnics and Chanukah parties are held yearly. The society participates in fundraising initiatives and maintains the Drildzer section of the Dawes Road cemetery. They recently led the Ilza Historical Cemetery Restoration Project, which saw the restoration of the Jewish cemetery in Ilza.
