The National conventions series contains files documenting the 28th to the 41st National Conventions that were held every two years between 1946 and 1975. The files in this series includes documents such as: agendas, programs, reports, delegate lists, minutes from committees, resolutions and photographs.
File contains correspondence between Dunkelman and Lawrence Tapper, an archivist at the Public Archives of Canada (now Library and Archives Canada) in connection with the records of the Jewish War Veterans of Canada. In addition, the file contains a contract between Dunkelman and the National Archives for the donation of his records to the institution.
The file consists of a report of the survey of Canadian Young Judaea 1964-1965. This report was prepared by Dr. Samuel Grand and submitted to the Zionist Organization of Canada Survey Committee. The file also contains correspondence between Dr. Samuel Grand and Sol Granek regarding the terms of reference and procedures used for the survey.
The file consists of a brochure describing the symbolism of Canadian Young Judaea, descriptions of committees, the Dugma publication, suggestions for national programmes and presentations, season outlines, programme guidelines, programme reminder notices, and a programme booklet on intermarriage.
The first National Convention of Zionists in Canada was held in 1907. National conventions held between 1907 and 1946 occurred annually and rotated locations between Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. Beginning in 1946, with the 28th Convention held in Toronto, the Zionist Organization of Canada held a national convention biennially until the 41st convention which was held in Israel.
It was during the national conventions that the national executive was elected for a two year term. Delegates to national conventions were nominated and elected from communities in each region of Canada which included: Eastern, Central, Mid-West, Western and Pacific.

Series consists of records related to Phil Givens’ work as an MP for the federal riding of York West in Toronto and a small amount related to Givens’ earlier failed election attempt in the Spadina riding. The records include campaign material, correspondence, photographs, a video cassette featuring Givens' at the Houses of Parliament and an oversized composite print of the members of the House of Commons for 1968. Of note are images of Givens participating in a parliamentary delegation to the United Nations, attending the Sir Casimir Gzowski Monument dedication, and visiting NASA's Manned Spacecraft Center. Also included is a small number of photographs of Givens at events hosted or attended by national political figures, such as former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney. Givens' attendance at such events occurred outside of his time in national office, but are associated with his role as a federal MP.

The National Treasurer of the Zionist Organization of Canada was a member of the National Administrative Council and the Executive Board. The National Treasurer was responsible for reporting on the financial situation of the Zionist Organization of Canada through the presentation of auditor's reports and financial statements. These documents were presented for review and approval at national conventions.

The sub-series is organized into two sub-sub-series: auditor's reports (1929-1966); and, copies of financial reports submitted by the treasurer to the national conventions (1922-1968).
The National Council of Jewish Women of Canada conducted its activites through a number of national portfolios, each headed by a national vice-president and composed of a number of committees.
Scope and Content
Series consists of reports, publicity, guidelines, by-laws, and other material generated by these various national committees and portfolios. It also includes fairly full sets of the national periodicals Canadian Council Women, Keeping You Posted and The New Edition.
This file consists of correspondence pertaining to the Jewish National Fund. Included is a receipt book for ticket sales to honour of M. M. Ussishkin's 75th jubilee, notices of meetings and events, 2 letters written in Hebrew and Yiddish and educational material about Mizrachi.
This file consists of communication between Katz and the Jewish National Fund. Included are notices of meetings, descriptions of fund-raising efforts, a list of donors and funds collected for JNF and a Jewish National Fund Dunam certificate issued to Katz.
This file consists of a programme from the Negev Testimonial Dinner sponsored by the Jewish National Fund honouring the Toronto Jewish Community on the occasion of its centennial, 1856-1956. In the programme is an historical sketch of Toronto Jewry.
This file consists of Katz's delegate kit for the National Keren Kayemeth Conference held in Detroit, Michigan in December 1942. Included are copies of the program; a booklet of information outlining finances of the Jewish National Fund (e.g. balance sheet, statement of receipts and disbursements, a list of J.N.F. growth over a decade, list of income by state and by city,etc. and topics for round table discussion; an informational Jewish National Fund pamphlet and a "Land for Freedom" delegate's ribbon. Also included is letter in Yiddish and English from the Mizrachi Organization of America concerning sponsorship of the Mizrachi Jubilee book.
