Dora Tobias married Morris S. Till on 21 May 1916, in Toronto. They had two children, Sigmund and Cecile, both of whom she outlived. Sigmund died tragicallyin 1938 at the age of 11 after a sudden illness. Cecile married Frank Goldhar and they had two children, Sheila Anne and Meyer Garson.
Morris Till (1892-1977) was born in Poland to Solomon and Cyril Till. The family later immigrated to Toronto in 1914. In business, Morris headed the M. S. Till and Company Limited, a lingerie manufacturing company.
Morris was one of Toronto's prominent communal leaders, holding positions on the boards and executives of Goel Tzedec Synagogue, the YM-YWHA, Jewish Home for the Aged and Baycrest Hospital, B'nai Brith, Mount Sinai Hospital, Zionist Council of Toronto and the United Jewish Welfare Fund. He was primarily responsible for merging the United Palestine and Jewish Welfare fund appeals into one campaign, now known as the United Jewish Appeal.
Morris Till was honoured on numerous occasions throughout his lifetime, including a citation from the Keren Hayesod United Israel Appeal in recognition of distinquished service to the State of Israel.
Scope and Content
This series consists of records documenting the personal life of Dora Till and the many awards and tributes conferred upon her during her lifetime. The records include personal wiritings and speeches, correspondence, newsclippings and photographs. There is one sub-sereis entitled Personal awards and tributes. The records are described to the file level and a selection of photographs are described at the item level.

Sol Edell, the son of Paul and Mollie Edell, was one of five siblings. He and Dolly Weinstock, the daughter of Moishe and Sylvia Weinstock, had two daughters and two sons and lived in Toronto. After Dolly died in 1961, he married Celia (nee Rogen) Hoffman, a widow, in 1966. He became the stepfather to the two sons of Max and Celia Hoffman who had been residents of Hamilton. Some members of the family remained in Toronto while others moved to other parts of Canada, the United States and Israel. Sol Edell was actively involved in or provided financial support to many educational, professional and religious organizations.
Scope and Content
Series includes correspondence, invitations, publications, photographs, family films and a sound recording. The series is made up of seven sub-series: Associations, Charities, Community Activities, Education and Extra-Curricular Activities, Life Cycle and Family Events, Religious, and Residence.

Scope and Content
Series contains correspondence and blueprints relating to the construction of the Hoffman residence. Also included are the Westlake Secondary School yearbook, the school attended by the Hoffman children and a biography of Meyer Hoffman, a relative of Max Hoffman. In addition, there is correspondence relating to the Hoffman family membership in the Beverley Golf and Country Club.

The sub-series consists of Dr. Joseph Diamond's and Rabbi Irwin Witty's personal correpondence, filed with their executive director records, the text of public talks and of commentaries made on Zelda Young's "Jewish hour" radio programme, broadcast every Sunday on the CHIN (Toronto) radio station. The topics of these commentaries varied widely, including Talmudic commentaries, Israeli and Diaspora Jewish politics, as well as matters relating to Jewish education in Toronto and elsewhere. Although much of the personal correspondence is routine in nature, some of the letters include discussions of Jewish education and activities of the BJE.

Scope and Content
This file contains legal documents relating to the Franklin family, including the statement of succession duty on the Abraham Franklin Estate, detailing the value of the Franklin property; an income tax assessment for Dora Franklin; a conveyance transferring the land surrounding James and Albert Streets to Henry, Simon, Hyman, Annie, Dora and Katie Franklin from the estate of their father Abraham; a declaration by Ruth Dorothy Holmes that Henry Franklin was also known as Harry, for the purpose of his last will and testament; the conveyance and release by Annie Franklin of her real estate holdings to her brothers at a cost of $25,000, to be administered in trust to her; and the last will and testament of Elias Robinson, the husband of Annie Franklin.

Scope and Content
The series consists of the following materials:.
4 prize cards (9x12 cm) won by Kaplan in drafting or design competitions at the Canadian National Exhibition in 1916, 1918, and 1919.
5 photographs of stores on Dundas Street near Bay Street, probably dating from the mid-1910s.
A colour photocopy of the invitation to Kaplan's stag party, 13 Dec 1923.
A participant's medal from the 1948 Olympic Games in London, England, where Kaplan & Sprachman's design for the Oakdale Golf & Country Club was entered in the Arts Competition.
An undated typescript of a speech given by Kaplan to the Council of Jewish Women, entitled What to look for in building or buying a home.
4 family photographs.
A pamphlet and button from the Save the Eglinton Theatre Committee, and an article on the Eglinton Theatre from the Toronto Star, 26 Apr 1996. These materials were added to the fonds by Kaplan's daughter, Phyllis Pepper.

File consists of six coloured slides and eleven photographs of unidentified events and individuals related to the CJC. The slides are of scenes from a European town, including Judaic headstones and buildings. The photographs include: 1. A group photograph of seventeen women sitting in a dinning room or parlour, possibly taken in Welland, ON. [196-?]. 2. A portrait of a man sitting at a desk with a pen and a report. 3. A group of men in kippot talking, attributed to the Sarnia Observer newspaper. [196-?]. 4. A portrait of a young man with dark hair and a girl with blond hair wearing a dark pea jacket. [196-?]. 5. A portrait of an unidentified man. 6. Three unidentified men pose with a check in front of a banquet table and a club flag, attributed to the Tay-Sachs Disease Donation at Upper Canada Lodge, Toronto, ON in 1971. 7. A portrait of an unidentified man with horn-rimmed glasses. 8. A portrait of an unidentified man. 9. A portrait of an unidentified man. 10. A portrait of an unidentified man, possible a violinist. 11. A group of young men and women clustered around the entrance of a train car, possibly in the winter.
Physical Condition
Some photographs are scratched and contain finger prints and smudges.
