The records include agendas and minutes, outgoing letters, talking points for presenters at schools, a March for Israel poem, a schedule of drop-offs of sponsorship kits and locked collection boxes and a presentation list and schedule. There is also an information package of textual and visual resources on tzedakah and the theme "so no Jew stands alone." This includes documents that discuss rescue and resettlement, fundraising for Israel, and the crisis of Ethiopian Jews and Jews from Sarajevo. The file also includes copies of a flyer and a quarter-page advertisement.

File contains a recruitment summary; presentation lists and schedules for recruitment in schools; form letters to presenters, participants and school principals; a timeline for the Recruitment Committee; an outline with instructions for presenters; and the "Journey to Jerusalem" poem that was part of presentations. The file also contains a letter written by UJA March coordinator Karen Worb outlining the initial steps of the recruitment committee as of February 9th, 1996. Attached to this letter is the original proposal from the Canadian Zionist Federation for a joint youth program to conclude with an event on the day of the March (i.e. the Festival).

Much of the correspondence concerns the conflict in scheduling the Walk on a Sunday when supplementary schools have their classes and students must miss either school or the Walk. The frustration of school principals leads some to refuse to allow any promotion of the Walk in their school.

Toronto Section's executive historically incorporated five or six vice-presidents, each in charge of a portfolio made up of a group of related committees. The education portfolio oversaw workshops and speakers, and engaged in research and social action projects. This portfolio often organized programs and activities in conjunction with the membership and service portfolios.
Scope and Content
This sub-series comprises photographs, reports, programs and brochures generated by the portfolio and predominantly covers the late 1970s through to the early 1980s.

The Canadian Jewish Congress assisted the communities in all aspects of Jewish education for both youth and adults. It recruited qualified teachers, provided pedagogical training, established a uniform curriculum and evaluated school programmes. It also helped the smaller communities in organizing cultural activities such as Jewish Book Month and Jewish Music month and supplied guest speakers in support of these projects.
