Accession consists of the records created and collected by Bill Gladstone during the course of his research for a book, The History of the Jewish Community of London Ontario from the 1850s to the Present Day. The book was commissioned by the Rubinoff family. The records document several long-standing families of the London Jewish community, as well as business and religious and social institutions. Included are vital statistics, correpsondence, demographic reports and surveys, photographs, and other related material.
Bill Gladstone is a researcher, writer and genealogist living in Toronto. He has written and edited numerous books on Canadian Jewish history and is a frequent contributor to the Canadian Jewish News, the Globe and Mail and other publications. He is often asked to give community presentations on a variety of topics related to the history of Jewish Toronto.
