- Accession consists of a stapled booklet honouring Meir Weiss (July 19, 1954-Oct. 16, 1973). It contains letters in Hebrew (with English translations) from Meir to his family while he was in the Israeli Army. Included is a letter from his best friend while in the army, explaining how Meir died in the Yom Kippur War, and letters of condolences and tributes addressed to his parents, from then president Ephriam Katzir, commander-in- chief, Izhak Mordehai and from the IDF. The booklet was compiled by Miriam Schai with the assistance of Yosef and Sarah Shoham.

- Meir Weiss was born July 19, 1954 to Rabbi Abraham Yehuda L. Weiss and Sarah Weiss (née Kesler). Rabbi Weiss was a Holocaust survivor who lost his family during the war. Meir graduated from The United Talmud Torah School, Toronto. He enlisted in the Israeli army. He is buried in Israel.
