- Item consists of a recording of the Canada-Israel Committee segment. David Weinberg talks about Israel's struggle to juggle control of multiple issues, such as hosting the visit of Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Asmat Abdel-Meguid to the country, debating an international peace conference on the Middle East, defending their border control policies to the US State Department, adjusting to the controversy of a visiting Soviet consular delegation, and the ongoing strikes. However, he focuses on tensions building in the Persian Gulf and discusses it at length.

With the aim of promoting and advancing all aspects of the Canada-Israel relationship, the CIC communicates on a regular basis with government officials, journalists, academics and others who have an impact on public opinion in Canada. It is affiliated with the Quebec-Israel Committee.
