The file consists of photographs taken at the art exhibition held during the 38th national convention in Toronto. Mr. Dov Safrai, director of the Safrai Art Gallery of Jerusalem supervised the exhibition of art that featured artists such as Yitzhak Pugatch, Yona Mach, Yossi Stern, Ruth Schloss, Isadore Ashhiem and Abraham Goldberg.
Series consists of records documenting the Koffler Centre of the Arts' performances and events. Included are program guides, promotional material highlighting visiting Israeli artists and Koffler Centre of the Arts fundraisers, Stars of the 21st Century Galas and off-site performances, correspondence, administrative material, legal contracts, perfomance videos and photographs, media releases, press clippings and reviews.
This file consists of three photographs taken at the performance of Yentl performed by the Art Theatre Production Company, the first production staged at the Leah Posluns Theatre. Two of the photographs are of specific scenes being acted out, while the third is a photograph of the actors applying their make-up in the dressing room.
The Park Plaza Hotel, originally called the Queen's Park Plaza, began construction in 1928. However, because of financial problems in the Depression it was not completed until 1936. Prior to its completion it was bought by the Park Plaza Company, a group of investors including Harry Rotenberg of Yolles and Rotenberg and Joseph Schwartz, Sylvia Schwartz's father. It was originally used as a hotel, residences and office space. Through the 1940s and 1950s it was a popular hot spot, acting as a venue for entertainers such as Cab Calloway and Duke Ellington. In the 1960s it became a popular location with the literary crowd, including Margaret Atwood and Mordecai Richler.
It was eventually bought by the Hyatt chain and re-named the Park Hyatt Toronto.

Series consists of records documenting the Koffler Centre art exhibitions. Included are catalogues highlighting works by the artist, artist statements, bios and CVs, promotional material for Koffler Gallery and off-site exhibits, press releases and clippings, art reviews, exhibit program guides, exhibit proposals, program overviews, correspondence, legal contracts with artists, photographs and slides of works by the artist.
The file consists of correspondence concerning participation in an art auction held during an art exhibition and requests for interview times on the Shalom television programme. The file also includes price lists of art works donated to the exhibition.
File consists of fourteen photographs of CJC personalities and Jewish celebrities and performers, including: a portrait of an unidentified man from Argentina; Israeli actress [Margolitt Stendler?]; two portraits of Rabbi Gunther Plaut; a portrait of Louis Applebaum; a group photograph of four men in suits wearing kippot, including John Robarts, Premier of Ontario and John Keiller MacKay, the Lieutenant Governor; a group of five men and one woman displaying a poster for the 24th Annual Jewish Music Festival; a portrait of a woman, presumably the Chief Librarian of Temple Sinai Library, posing in front of library shelves and posing with Ralph Schiff with a citation award from the Jewish Book Committee of Toronto; a portrait of Meyer W. Gasner; a portrait of Dr. Israel Knox; and a portrait of an unidentified man. Also includes two shots of speakers at a podium addressing an audience, one of whom may be a rabbi.
File consists of 4 negatives taken at the Schwartz family cottage at Bobcaygeon, circa 1955. They consist of candid images of family and friends relaxing at the cottage.
Individuals pictured include Joseph and Gertrude Schwartz and Herbert and Carol Solway.

Scope and Content
Accession consists of group photos of organizatons including delegates to the 1910 Zionist convention in Toronto on the steps of the Goel Tzedec Synagogue, volunteer collectors for the War Relief Conference in Toronto during the First World War, founders of the Toronto Hebrew Students Association, the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine holders of "T" for athletics, the University of Toronto Medical Alumni Association, the University of Toronto Zionist Circle, the University of Toronto Menorah Society, the Nordau Zion Club picnic at Long Branch, and the Associated Hebrew Charities Childrens Home (orphanage). Many of the photos have identification of individuals including David Eisen, Henry Dworkin, Morris Goldstick, A.G. Volpe, Jacob Singer and Fred Catzman.
In addition there are a series of photographs of the University of Toronto St. George Campus, and buildings along Queen Street West, Nathan Phillips Square, New City Hall, Kensington Avenue and other downtown locations taken in 1965 and 1966. Some of the buildings have since been demolished.
Finally, a clipping from the Canadian Jewish Congress Supplement written by Stephen Speisman outlines the history of the Central Region Archives Committee, later the Ontario Jewish Archives.

Acession consists of photographs documenting Jewish community events in Toronto taken by Joe Black of Graphic Artists. The images include United Jewish Appeal and Canadian Jewish Congress dinners, UJA missions to Israel, sporting events, fund raisers with celebrity guests, visits to politicians' offices, and a royal tour at City Hall. There are pictures taken during construction of the northern branch of the YMHA, Baycrest Home for the Aged, and Adath Israel Congregation.
Identified individuals include Rabbi David Monson, Rabbi Abraham Fineberg, Murray Koffler, Sid Harris, Irving Oelbaum, Sam Shopsowitz, Sam Bronfman, Premier of Ontario Leslie Frost, Mayor Nathan Philips, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, Bette Davis, and the Three Stooges.
Item is a one-page resolution authored by the United Jewish People's Order. The resolution addresses "revelations of the horrible crimes and injustices committed in the Soviet Union over an extended period of time," including "the liquidation of many prominent Jewish writers and the closing of Jewish cultural institutions." The resolution expresses the organization's disappointment with the USSR's failure to issue an authoritative statement addressing these and other matters pertaining to the Jewish citizens of the country.
