- The first committee meetings were held in 1944 as a forum for joint discussions between the United Jewish Welfare Fund and its client agencies in Toronto to examine the long-term financial needs of the agencies and thus fund-raising plans at the UJWF. As clients were bound to consult the UJWF before initiating fund-raising campaigns of their own, plans for special capital campaigns to finance new buildings by individual organizations such as Mount Sinai Hospital, the YMHA, the Jewish Home for the Aged, and several Jewish schools were also discussed.
- Scope and Content
- Series consists of two sub-series; Meeting Minutes and Individual Agency Reports. Minutes contain discussions both with individual agencies and also groups of agencies such as schools and camps. Reports consist of detailed financial needs studies about three of the individual agencies. Files are arranged chronologically within each sub-series.
