- In May 1950, a conference on unified fund-raising was held in London, Ontario. Attending were leaders of many Ontario Jewish Communities, and the Canadian Jewish Congress, who were brought together to examine the possibility of moving from municipally-based individual campaigns to regionally-based sharing systems. Following this conference, further meetings were held over the following three years, mostly in Toronto. No final sharing system based on larger geographical areas appears to have emerged.

- In the Spring of 1952, the UJWF set up The Committee of Community Organization to examine the financial and organizational structures of Canadian Jewish Community organizations and their relationships with one-another. Its first meeting was held on May 12, 1953. Although the issues facing smaller Jewish communities were discussed at first, the Committee's focus on shared responsibilities between CJC and all local communities soon became the major issues of discussion. In 1953 the name of the Committee had altered to The Joint National Committee on Community Organization.
