- Rabbi Dr. Israel Frankel was born 7 March 1909, in Stryj, Galicia to Rabbi Asher Isaiah and Bath Sheva Frankel. He moved to Dublin, Ireland where he was ordained in 1929. He married Faygie (née Steinberg) and together had four children: Bath-Sheba, Joshua, Asher and Esther. In 1950, the family immigrated to Toronto.
- Rabbi Frankel was director of Camp Galil, former lecturer at Midrashah L'Morim, on the executive of Mizrachi and Hapoel Hamizrachi and executive director of the Toronto Jewish Public Library. He was the Rabbi at Shaarei Tzedec Synagogue for many years.
- Rabbi Frankel died in 1977, at the age of 68.

- Accession consists of two photo albums documenting Edwin Goldstein's term as Baycrest Centre president (September 1978-September 1980); a publication titled "Treasures of Baycrest," which contains biographies of individuals who have "enhanced Baycrest and the lives of the elderly" (Edwin is one of the individuals profiled); a colour photograph of Edwin and three other individuals holding a certificate; and three clippings that relate to Abe Posluns, Sam Ruth, and Irving Waltman.

- Accession consists of material documenting Herbert Goldstein. Included is Herbert's typed, first-hand account of his experience being in Berlin during Kristallnacht. According to Herbert's friend Larry Mogelonsky, Herbert wrote down his account in 1992.
- Custodial History
- Larry Mogelonsky was a friend of Herbert Goldstein and donated Herbert's account to the Ontario Jewish Archives after his friend's death.
- Administrative History
- Herbert Goldstein lived in Montreal and moved to Toronto circa 2000. He passed away on 17 April 2012.
- Herbert's obituary was published in the Toronto Star on 19 April 2012. The obituary records the following information: "Herbert Goldstein, beloved husband of Sheba. Loving father and father-in-law of Debra Goldstein and David Cohen, and Earl Stuart and the late Lisa Goldstein. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Edward and Susan Goldstein, and Lynda Gould. Devoted grandfather of Jacob, and Sophie Cohen, and Jessica and Matthew Stuart."
