- The Pride of Israel Sick Benefit Society was founded in 1905 to provide assistance to newly arrived immigrants and to promote a prosperous Jewish community. The Pride of Israel Sick Benefit Society's Ladies Auxiliary was founded in 1922 with Mrs. Sophie Torno as the first Chairlady. The Ladies Auxiliary assisted the Society in collecting funds for various philanthropic causes. Moreover, they organized lectures and entertainment.

- Item is a negative of the the Pride of Israel Sick Benefit Society's Ladies' Auxiliary parade. The image depicts a group of women walking down a street carrying a large banner with the inscription: "Pride of Israel Sick Benefit Society Ladies Auxiliary, Friendship, Established 1921." The women have sashes with Pride of Israel across them and 15th Jubilee.

- Accession consists of a booklet issued on the occassion of the fifteenth anniversary of the Cloakmakers Branch of the Independent Workers Circle. The latter took place in 1965 and a celebration was held on Sunday, November 7 in the auditorium of the Borochov Centre at 272 Codsell Avenue, Downsview, Ontario. Also included is a certificate that was found inside the booklet. The latter, which appears to be dated to 1965, has not been translated.

- On a Royal visit to Canada in 1951, the future Queen of England visited Maple Leaf Gardens to watch one period of play between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Chicago Blackhawks. She then travelled to Montreal and watched another game between the Canadiens and New York Rangers.
- Conn Smythe is best known as the principal owner of the Toronto Maple Leafs from 1927 to 1961 and as the builder of Maple Leaf Gardens.

- This item is a copy print and corresponding negative of the Jewish community's parade float in honour of the Silver Jubilee celebrations of King George V and Queen Mary. The float has a Zionist theme, celebrating Palestine being under British rule. The front of the float has a sign which reads: The Jewish united community of Kirkland Lake expresses its profound joy and happiness on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee of King George V and Queen Mary. On this day of rejoicing, it pledges to continue its unstinted support and efforts on behalf of Israel.

- The Israel at 50 Committee was a consortium of nearly 150 organizations under the auspices of UJA Federation and the Consulate General of Israel.
- Scope and Content
- File contains notes and minutes from meetings of the Israel at 50 Cabinet meeting of Consortium members and meetings of UJA's Festival Committee; the first newsletter of the Consortium from February 1998; printed promotional materials such as posters and a flyer; the rental contract for nine character costumes; an information outline; and correspondence about entertainment. A brochure includes a map showing all the attractions, entertainment acts, food and marketplace vendors. As well, there are 24 photographs of people at the Ontario Place gates, at the barbecue lunch, audience members and performers, people at the ice cream stand and kids at the water park.

- Spencer Evans was the publicity chief for Maple Leaf Gardens during the 1940s and 1950s and in 1963, became the director of public relations for the Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club. Archie Wilson was an American baseball player who played in the major league for the New York Yankees, the Washington Senators and the Boston Red Sox, from 1951-1952. After this he played for the Toronto Maple Leafs baseball club.
