- Allan Grossman was born in 1910 to Morris and Sarah Grossman. He married Ethel Starkman and they had three children named Denyse, Larry and Susan. Allan Grossman was president of the Allan Grossman Insurance Services Ltd. He was involved in political life in Canada holding positions as Alderman, Council member for Metro Toronto, elected member of Ontario Legislature, and in 1960 he was appointed Minister without portfolio. He was re-appointed to Provincial Cabinet as Chairman of the Ontario Liquor Control Board.

- Currently, Professor Martin Lockshin is an associate professor of humanities in the Department of Languages, Literature, and Linguistics at York University. He has published extensively and recently completed a term as director of York's Centre for Jewish Studies.

- File consists of images taken at a celebratory party for Allan Grossman, on the occasion of his appointment as Minister Without Portfolio in the Ontario Legislature, the second Jewish person to be named a cabinet minister in Canada. The party was thrown for Grossman by the Zionist Organization of Canada, Central Region, and was held at the Regency Towers.
- The images depict Grossman and his wife cutting the cake, David Peters giving a speech and presenting Grossman with a certificate, Grossman and his wife responding to the presentation, and several group photographs of Grossman with the members of ZOC.

- Accession consists of seven scrapbooks, three of which contain newspaper clippings documenting the 1982 Lebanon War, and the remaining four contain newspaper clippings related to the trials of James Keegstra (a high school teacher convicted of promoting hatred against an identifiable group) and Ernst Zündel (a publisher and pamphleteer who was charged twice in the 1980s for publishing literature denying the Holocaust).
