- The National Administrative Council was the executive and administrative body of the Zionist Organization of Canada. From 1919 to 1921, its predecessor for the Federation of Zionist Societies of Canada was known as the Executive Committee for Zionist Affairs in Canada, or the Executive Committee of the Federation of Zionist Societies of Canada.
- At its convention in 1921, the Zionist Organization of Canada adopted a constitution which called for the election of a National Administrative Council at each convention, to be responsible for administration of the Organization between conventions. The first meeting of the National Council took place on 7 February 1921, at the Zionist Headquarters in Montreal. The Council was composed of the Organization's executive officers, regional representatives and representatives from Hadassah-Wizo and Canadian Young Judea. An Executive Board was also formed, which included members elected at the conventions, ZOC executive officers and the immediate past-president, the chairs of National Administrative Council standing committees, representatives of Hadassah-Wizo and Young Judea, and other National Administrative Council regional representatives elected from the Council's members. The Board could also appoint additional members at its discretion to assist in its work. The Executive Board was delegated to carry out the decisions and ongoing work of the National Administrative Council and of the Organization generally.
- Scope and Content
- The series is organized into five sub-series, which includes: minutes of meetings of the National Administrative Council and the Executive Board and their predecessor, the Executive Committee for the Federation of Zionist Societies of Canada (1919-1970); correspondence of the Council and the ZOC Executive Vice-President (1970-1976); auditor's reports and financial statements maintained by the National Treasurer (1929-1968); records of the Council's Constitution Committee (1952-1975); and, records of the Commission of Enquiry Regarding Canadian Olim (1975-1977).

- The Jewish Camp Council was formed in 1945 by five different groups running summer camps for Jewish youth: B’nai Brith, the National Council of Jewish Women, the Mothers’ and Babes’ Summer Rest Home Association, the United Jewish Welfare Fund of Toronto and the YM-YWHA
- The United Jewish Welfare Fund eventually assumed responsibility for all camp property, including Camp Northland in Haliburton, and programming for all camps was organized as a unified service. The Jewish Camp Council Board of Directors included representatives from all five organizations, while the executive director of the YM-YWHA acted as executive director of the Jewish Camp Council. Initially, the head office was located at Camp B'nai Brith, near Orillia, and then moved into the new YM-YWHA building at Spadina and Bloor in 1953.
- Scope and Content

- The principals of BJE affiliated schools were organized into a Principals' Council in the early stages of the development of the BJE. The Principals' Council, chaired by the executive director of the BJE, was an advisory body to the bureau in all matters related to the educational interests of the affiliated schools and met to discuss common problems, such as the content and program of teachers' seminars, coordination of inter-school activities, professional welfare, and school policies and procedures. The Principals' Council also dealt with matters such as security in the schools, enrolment campaigns, professional development programs, the distribution of educational publications, evaluation of teacher performance, Israel study tours, and other matters. Implementation of decisions made by the Principals Council was typically the responsibility of BJE staff, if these decisions required action beyond the individual schools.
- In the late 1970s, due to the increase in the number and diversity of affiliated schools, separate councils were established for day school and supplementary school principals, known respectively as the Day School Principals Association, and Meetings of Supplementary School Principals and Coordinators.
- Scope and Content
- The series documents the meetings of the Principals Council and its successor bodies, the Day School Principals Association, and the Supplementary School Principals and Coordinators, and the relationships between these councils and BJE professional staff. The series consists of meeting minutes, memoranda, and correspondence between school principals and BJE staff. The files are organized by the name of the body, and then by date.
