The Sports Celebrity Dinners were developed by the Jewish Community Centre of Toronto in 1985. Each year, a different person connected with the world of sports was honoured by the community for their contributions. The night included a dinner, guest speakers and celebrity appearances, and usually an athletic demonstration or participatory event that related to the honouree's sport. For example, a boxing match, a skating demonstration or a batting cage.

This series consists of photographs and program books from eight of the annual Sports Celebrity Dinners held by the Jewish Community Centre of Toronto.
This file consists of one program book from the 1987 Sports Celebrity Dinner and one plaque presented to William G. Davis, the recipient of the tribute. William G. Davis was the former Premier of Ontario, chairman of the Board of Governors of the Canadian Football League and a promoter of athletics. Davis was also a supporter of the building of the Skydome.
The MC for the evening was Brian McFarlane. Celebrity guests included Mike Ditka, John Brophy, Stephen Condren, Leo Cahill, Sandra Post, Russ Howard, Jack Donohue, Sheila Forshaw, Bill Simmons, Sylvia Ruegger, Willie Pless and Milt Ottey.
This file consists of a program book and photographs taken at the 1989 Sports Celebrity Dinner. The dinner featured a tribute to R. Alan Eagleson, executive director of the National Hockey League Players Association, chief organizer of the Canada Cup and the driving force behind the 1972 series between Russia and Canada. The dinner was held at the Constellation Hotel on 13 June 1989. There is also a plaque that was presented to Eagleson by the JCC.

This file consists of a program package and photographs taken at the 1990 Sports Celebrity Dinner. The dinner featured a tribute to Irving Ungerman, boxing promoter and manager. It was held at the Constellation Hotel on 5 June 1990 and featured a boxing match and demonstration.

Ted Thompson (January 17, 1953 – January 20, 2021) was an American professional football player and executive in the National Football League (NFL). He was the general manager of the Green Bay Packers from 2005 to 2017. Thompson had a ten-year playing career in the NFL as a linebacker and special teams player with the Houston Oilers from 1975 to 1984. Thompson first worked for the Packers organization from 1992 to 1999, first as assistant director of pro personnel, then their director of pro personnel from 1993 to 1997 and their director of player personnel from 1997 to 1999. He then served with the Seattle Seahawks as their vice president of operations from 2000 to 2004. He returned to Green Bay as their general manager in 2005. Over his career, Thompson won two Super Bowl titles, XXXI in 1997 and XLV in 2011. In May 2019, Thompson revealed that he had been suffering from an autonomic disorder.

Series consists of four audio reels containing Sports Talk segment, presented by Ted Thompson, broadcast by CHIN Radio on Thursdays. Thompson discusses issues related to sports medicine, particularly common injuries and the role of sport in disease prevention.

Stanley Allen "Stan" Levenson (6 February 1938 – 8 January 2016) was a Toronto-born Canadian sprinter. He competed in the men's 100 metres at the 1956 Summer Olympics.

On the reverse of the photograph are signatures of the famous sports club and a German inscription "In memmory of the cameraderie of the sport club Hakoah". Descriptive Notes
History: According to Wikipedia article Hakoah Vienna, "Hakoah", Hebrew for strength, is the name of a Jewish sports club established in Vienna in ca. 1909 and and closed by the Nazis in [1938 or 1941]. In 1945, the club re-formed its football team only, which disbanded in 1949.
The file consists of correpondence, minutes of meetings, events programmes, lists of guests, speeches, invitations, and a copy of the Proclamation of Independence issued by the Provisional Council for the State of Israel, May 14, 1948.
File contains correspondence, rental and service agreements, memoranda, food vendor information, and meeting minutes, all relating to the picnic held at the end of the Walk at the "northern JCC." There are also photographs of performers and the audience, groups, families and couples, the "Elephant" character from TVO's The Elephant Show, and the petting zoo. This file also includes two booklets about Jerusalem (reference material), and sample parking pass and ride/concession stand tickets.
File contains correspondence, meeting minutes, and an outline of the proceedings for the closing ceremony of the Yom Yerushalayim Celebration following the Walk.
