- This individual is possibly Samuel Loafea (b. 1880 – d. 1962). He was born in Poland and lived in Oakland, California, between 1923 and his death in 1962. It is possible he arrived in California earlier than 1923. He invented a corrugation machine, the patent for which was registered in Oakland in 1923. He was married to Betsy “Bessie” Dorfler, and they had two daughters, Catherine and Sarah.

- File consists of a greeting card and envelope from Mr. and Mrs. S. Loafea in Oakland, California, to Max Hartstone and family. The message on the card is a greeting for the new year. The writers also ask after the Hartstone's son in Mexico. Envelope is included.
