Included is an invitation to the Annual Dinner of the Men's Service Council of the United Jewish Welfare Fund of Toronto. Identified individuals in photos on the card are Joe Lubotta, J. Irving Oelbaum, Charles Foster, Henry S. Rosenberg, Eddie Gelber, Sam Godfrey, and Ben Sadowski. There is also a pamphlet entitled "Accent on Action" prepared by the National Initiative Committee, and a booklet "A Brief on Religious Education in the Schools" prepared by the Research Committee of the Association for Religious Liberty.

Custodial History: Mr. Friedman retrieved the poster -- originally framed -- from a dumpster in front of the Lipa Green Building. It probably came from the Jewish Public Library and was discarded during renovation work.

Scope and Content: Accession consists of photographs documenting UJA Federation's community grant allocation ceremonies from 1997, 1999 and 2003. The photographs feature representatives of the Community Planning and Allocations Department and various representatives of chosen community organizations.

Administrative History: The Community Planning and Allocations Department was responsible for awarding financial grants to chosen community organizations and projects. They were involved in the selection and allocation processes.; Under the former Toronto Jewish Congress, community grant allocations was handled by the Social Planning Department, which was responsible for selecting the winning applicants, and the Budget and Finance Department, which was responsible for distributing the grant money. When the Jewish Federation of Greater Toronto was founded, the two functions merged and became the Community Planning and Allocations Department. Under UJA Federation of Greater Toronto, the two functions were once again separated into the Strategic Planning Department and the Budget and Finance Department.

Another CD holds the Top Gifts Reception of the Campaign Launch in September 2007. For 2008, the records consist of a printed invitation to the Top Gifts Dinner and a CD with 120 photos from the event.

Scope and Content: Accession consists of 72 CDs and DVDs containing the records of the Tomorrow Campaign documenting the Downtown (Miles Nadal JCC and Wolfond Centre), Central (Sherman) and City North (Lebovic) campuses. Included are architectural drawings, renderings, photographic images, videos, reports, powerpoint presentations and promotional material.

Custodial History: The records were left in the creative department by an unknown person. They were given to the Archives by Yael Maayani after she failed to locate the owner.

Administrative History: UJA Federation's Tomorrow Campaign is Canada’s largest non-profit community development project. It is Federation's response to the need for new facilities and services brought about by the growth of Toronto’s Jewish community. The Tomorrow Campaign is mandated with the fundraising and creation of three campuses for Jewish life in the GTA. The Downtown District, serving Toronto's growing Jewish population in the city core, is anchored by the new Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre at Bloor & Spadina and the Wolfond Centre for Jewish Campus Life at Harbord & Huron. The new Sherman Campus, on Bathurst north of Sheppard, will include the new Prosserman Family Jewish Community Centre, where the Bathurst Jewish Community Centre is currently located, a new Koffler Centre for the Arts, a new National Centre for Jewish Heritage including the Canadian Jewish Musuem, the Neuberger Holocaust Education Centre and a renovated Lipa Green Building for Jewish Community Services. The Lebovic Jewish Community Campus, at Bathurst & Weldrick north of Rutherford, is designed to provide programs and services for York Region's Jewish community of 60,000 - the fastest growing in Canada. The Lebovic Campus will be highlighted by the Kimel Family Education Centre, housing the northern branch of the Community Hebrew Academy of Toronto (CHAT); the Schwartz-Reisman Centre offering recreational, educational, cultural, social and fitness facilities; community services; a United Synagogue Day School and other schools as well.

Scope and Content: Accession consists of the records of the Ontario Jewish Archives, particularly those originating from former Director, Ellen Scheinberg. The records include programming material, correspondence, memos, reports, meeting minutes, financial records and publicity material relating to the general operations and planning, programming, exhibit curation, special projects, and acquisition of records at the OJA.

Administrative History: The Ontario Jewish Archives (OJA) was established in 1973 and remains in operation today. The OJA’s mandate is to acquire, preserve, and make available records documenting Ontario’s Jewish community. The Archives became a legal corporation on 24 February 1977 with authorization from the Federal Corporations Act and the Provincial Letters Patent.; The Toronto Jewish Historical Society (TJHS) established an Archives Committee in 1971, to preserve the records of Toronto’s Jewish community. This prompted the Canadian Jewish Congress (CJC) Central Region to work with the TJHS to establish an organization that would preserve records of Jewish communities across Ontario. At a CJC Central Region Officers’ meeting in 1973, TJHS president Victor Sefton proposed that the Historical Society’s Archives Committee become an official arm of the CJC. After approving the proposal, the CJC Central Region allocated a budget for operation of the Archives, and the two Committees merged, forming one archival organization that operated under the umbrella of the CJC Central Region.; After the Toronto Jewish Congress (TJC) formed in 1976, the Archives became accountable to the TJC but continued to report to the CJC Central Region. In 1992, the TJC and CJC transferred responsibility for the Archives to the United Jewish Appeal (UJA) Federation, and the Archives remains part of that organization today.; The OJA’s administrative structure includes a Board of Directors, the director of the archives, archivists, an assistant archivist, contract employees, and volunteers. The Board of Directors consists of six to twelve members, each approved by UJA Federation and current Board members. Meetings are held a minimum four times per year and are presided by a Chair or the Vice Chair in the Chair’s absence. The Archives Director manages daily operation of the Archives. From 1973 to around 2000, Stephen Speisman acted as Director of the Archives. Ellen Scheinberg served as Archives Director from October 2002 to January 2011. Dara Solomon began as the OJA's Director in May 2012.
