- Accession consists of graphic and textual material documenting Jeff Perlmutar's involvement with the Bloor Jewish Community Centre (now the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre) as both a member of the Orlon Club in his youth, and staff. Included are original and copy photographs of various Orlon Club events and activities, staff photos, images of a farewell party for Murray Tonkin (or "Squirt") which was called "Night for Squirt", and Jeff's business card. Individuals identified in the images include: Harry Rosenberg, Moishe Edelstein, Irv Letler, Stevie Silverberg, Don Heller, Sid Griseman, Jerry Granen, Abie Grossman, Marty Sone, Jeff Perlmutar, Murray Tonkin, Hindy Friedman, Alfie Adler, Maureen Emery, Sarah Klaiman, Estelle Daniels, Archie Grummit, Shirley Boonstra, Allison Lee, and Florence Marantz.
- Administrative History
- Jeffrey Perlmutar has been involved with the Jewish Community Centres in Toronto as both a client, volunteer, and staff member. In his youth he was involved with the Orlon Club and later was a group leader (1956-1961), swim instructor, teen program director and involved with the various camps, such as Camp Fundale. Between 1993 and 2000 he worked as Membership Director at the Bloor JCC.
