- Born in America, Dr. Deborah Weissman made aliyah in 1972. She pursued her doctorate at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and spent her adult life in education. An Orthodox Jew as well as a feminist, Dr. Weissman was active in interfaith dialogue and spoke passionately about the need for peace and justice between Israelis and Palestinians.

- This item is a photograph of Dr. Deborah Weissman. The photo was kept by Beth Sholom Synagogue's adult education department. It is unclear whether or not Weissman was invited to speak at the synagogue.
