- William Silver entered the Jewish Home for the Aged in 1976. Mr. Silver was born around 1890 and had worked in Canada's garment industry. He was taken with the arts and crafts activities at Baycrest and spent three hours every day creating his mosaic tile plaques, which were in high demand by the public. Mr. Silver was also active in the Home's Toastmaster's Group, where residents delivered presentations on topics of their interest.
