- Louis Onrot co-founded the American Footwear Company in 1925, with his partner Charles Troster. In 1937, he married Belle (née Bluestein) Onrot, who he was married to for sixty-four years. Together they had two sons: Martin and Dr. Jake Onrot. Onrot was a long-standing member of the Lagover Society. Onrot died on 3 November 2001.
