- Admin History/Bio
- Mrs. Soreh Weingarten was born in 1887 in Kozova, near Ternopil, in East Galicia (now Ukraine). She was active in Mizrachi.
- Mr. Tovia Berkovitsh was born in 1926 in Ganicze, Czechoslovakia (current country unknown). Tovia moved to Canada in 1948 and was a second cantor in Toronto, coming from a cantorial family lineage.
- Mrs. Nussbaum (née Halberstamm) was born in 1932 in Bobowa, West Galicia, Poland.
- Mr. Moshe Shushan was born in 1888 in Slonim, Poland, and had lived in Toronto since 1917. Moshe was a Baycrest resident.
- Mrs. Tobah (Telma) Cohen was born in 1902 in Vienna, Austria, and moved to Canada in 1905. Tobah was a Baycrest resident and active in cultural life there.
- Mrs. Pola Zineman (née Berliner) was born in 1912 in Kalisz, Poland.
- Mrs. Regina [Izraelski] was born in Szydlowiec, near Radom, Poland. Regina was in a concentration camp during the Second World War and lived in Israel from 1949 to 1962. She moved to Toronto in 1962.
- Mrs. Malka Siegel was born in Toronto, the daughter of Max and Laya Abellia. She went to the Farband Folk Shul and was raised in Habonim. She was the sister of Eva Katz.
- Scope and Content
- Item consists of recorded sessions with Mrs. Soreh Weingarten; Adele Reinhartz; Mr. Tovia Berkovitsh; Mrs. Nussbaum; Mr. Moshe Shushan, who sings excerpts from the Yiddish operetta "Bar Kokhba," by Abraham Goldfaden; Mrs. Tobah (Telma) Cohen; Mrs. Pola Zineman; Mr. Max Kelson; Mrs. Regina [Izraelski]; Mrs. Sarah Zweigt; Miss Ann Miranski; and Mrs. Malka Siegel.

- Scope & Content: Track 1 contains DN 3; track 2 contains DN 4 and DN 5.
