- Mrs. Yarmus was born in 1912 in Chelm, Poland. She moved to Canada in 1940.
- Mrs. Khava Lifshits-Horowitz was born in Mlawa, Poland. She moved to Toronto in 1929. She used to sing in the Folk Choir in Toronto.
- Scope and Content
- Item consists of a session recorded at Baycrest with Mrs. Brokhe Stern and Mr. Albert (Aaron) Priedlander, and a session recorded at the National Council of Women with Mrs. Yarmus; Mrs. Khava Lifshits-Horowitz; Mr. S. Simkhovitsh; Mrs. Ruth Nefsky, who heard her songs from her grandfather, Berish Grunbaum, born in Ostrowiec, Poland; Mr. [unintelligible] Zimmerman; Mr. Shlomo Mitzmakher; Mr. M. Fiszman; and Miss Anne Miranski.

- Tape is in good condition. Track 1 audio quality is fair -- volume starts extremely low, but improves quickly, and content is mostly clear; track 2 audio quality is fair, with some background noise.
