- Rabbi Irwin E. Witty was born in New York City in 1932. He studied at the Mirrer Yeshiva in Brooklyn, Yeshiva University (where he was ordained), Columbia University, Dropsie University and Temple University. He had been a congregational rabbi, day school teacher and day school principal before becoming executive director of the Board of Jewish Education of Metropolitan Toronto in 1969. After 28 years of service at the Toronto board, Witty became the first director of the Coalition for Jewish Learning, the education program of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, a position he held from 1997 to 1999. After leaving Milwaukee, he returned to Toronto, where he lectured, taught and became executive director of the Albert and Tammy Latner Jewish Public Library. Witty passed away on 30 July 2005 and was survived by his wife, Shulamith, four children and 22 grandchildren.

- Series consists of 15 audio reels containing Rabbi Witty's segment for The Jewish Hour, broadcast by CHIN Radio on Sundays. He comments on news both related and pertinent to the Jewish community in Toronto and around the world.
