- Scope and Content
- Item consists of Rabbi Schild's segment. He talks about Holocaust Remembrance Day and his recent visit to Germany. As a Holocaust survivor, he was invited by the German government to see what he calls "the new Germany" and how the country was dealing with the memory of Nazism and the Holocaust. He narrates different attitudes towards the period, from the denial of the older generation to the curiosity and confrontation of the younger generation. He also claims that Germans must be encouraged to face their past and to assume responsibilty for it in order to prevent it from happening again.
