- Scope and Content
- Item consists of Rabbi Schild's segment. He discusses the situation surrounding Sikh asylum claimers that landed in Nova Scotia. He questions whether they are truly refugees since, according to them, Sikhs are not a persecuted minority in India. Although he acknowledges the violent persecution to Sikhs after the assassination of Indira Gandhi by two of her Sikh bodyguards, he claims that the very fact that she had Sikh bodyguards shows that they are not a persecuted minority. He goes on to justify the suspicions of the Canadian authorities and to support their proceedings.
