- Scope and Content
- Item consists of a recording of Ben Kayfetz's segment. He talks about an event with Elaine Dewar, author of an article about the Reichmann family that was published in Toronto Life Magazine. The event was to be held at the Bloor and Spadina branch of the Jewish Community Centre, but was cancelled due to a threat of lawsuit by the Reichmann family upon the author, publisher, and editor. He also talks about new resolutions on the Sunday shopping ban, which he believes is about to end. In addition, he discusses the Canadian participation in the Freedom Sunday for Soviet Jews, held the previous week in Washington. Finally, he announces the Symposium on Controversial Literature in Our Schools, deadling with "The Merchant of Venice" and other works, to be held the following day at the Lipa Green Centre.
