- Scope and Content
- Item consists of a recording of Ben Kayfetz's segment. He starts by remembering what he describes as the judicial murder by the Soviet authorities of twenty-three Jewish authors, on 12 August 1952, and expresses his strong condemnation of Stalin, the Soviet leader at the time. He talks about Robert Wistrich's book "Hitler's Apocalypse: Jews and the Nazi Legacy." According to him, based on converstations recorded by Hitler's close circle, he saw Stalin as his alterego and considered an alliance with him for what he perceived as Stalin's shared despise for the Jewish people. He then briefly discusses the 1952 trials and announces an event to be held the following Wednesday, 12 August 1987, at Beth Tzedec, to mourn that deaths. Finally, he briefly talks about Peter Ustinov's sojourn in Israel while working on a film and expresses his wishes that Ustinov abandon his support for the Palestine Liberation Organization.
