- Item consists of a recording of Aliyah Corner. David Bale interviews via telephone Arlene Gilboa, a Kibbutz Emissary of the Israel Youth Program Centre, in Toronto, who had then been a kibbutznik for 16 years. She was born in Boston and moved to Israel after getting to know more about the kibbutz way of life during a visit. She explains her path towards becoming a kibbutznik, the process of adaptating to life in a kibbutz (positive and negative aspects), and the importance of experiencing a kibbutz way of life for young people. The Centre offered programs for people between 18 and 35 years old.
