- Scope and Content
- Item consists of two episodes of Aliyah Corner. In the first episode, David Bale explains the idea behind the segment and the concept of aliyah, as well as the role of the shaliach, which is to provide information about moving to and settling in Israel. He interviews Harry Wall, director of Toronto's Israel Aliyah Office, who talks about how to work with potential olim, promotional efforts, and how the Office can help olim to look for jobs and housing in Israel. Wall also provides data on immigration rates from Toronto. In the second episode, Bale discusses the role of olim in Israeli culture, citing musical group Habrera Hativit as an example. He interviews musician Yehoram Gaon about the music scene in Israel and the role of Israeli musicians in promoting aliyah. Finally, Bale reads feedback from olim, highlighting the positive and negative aspects of aliyah.
