- Admin History/Bio
- The Eargun Yozei Ostrowceh in Palestine organization, also known as the Society for Former Ostrovtsers in the Land of Israel and the Ostrovtzer Aid Committee in Eretz Yisrael, was established as a landsmanshaft society to provide support for Holocaust survivors from Ostrowiec, Poland. Operating out of Tel Aviv, it became a vital support network for immigrants to Palestine.
- Founded by Ostrovtzers like David Topel, who served as one of the founding members and the first chairman, the organization had a primary focus on assisting newcomers. They provided support in the form of loans, assistance in finding suitable accommodation, and even rented out equipment for employment purposes. The organization coordinated with other Ostrovtzer Committees to provide aid to survivors in various countries, including Poland, France, and Italy.
- One of the ambitious projects undertaken by Eargun Yozei Ostrowceh was the development of an Ostrowiec neighborhood in Tel Aviv. This initiative aimed to create a community that would serve as a cultural and social hub for those with ties to Ostrowiec. Additionally, the organization worked towards the creation of a memory book, documenting the history of Ostrowiec.
