- Aaron Steinhart was from Ostrowiec, Poland, and lived in Los Angeles, California, in the mid-1940s. He served as the financial secretary of the Ostrowtzer Relief Committee in Los Angeles in 1946 and subsequently assumed the role of president in 1947. Aaron attended the conference of Ostrowtzer societies in September 1946 as a delegate.
- An alternate spelling of his name is Aron or Aran Shteynhart.
- Scope and Content
- File consists of a letter from Aaron Steinhart, financial secretary of the Ostrowtzer Relief Committee Los Angeles, to Max Hartstone and the United Ostrowtzer Aid Committee, dated 19 July 1946. In this letter, Aaron discusses the conference and the plans for their delegation. He expresses concerns about the arrangement of the conference, particularly with the schedule. He asks about delegates from Ostrowiec, New York, and Detroit and about the banquet program. He also mentions a successful fundraising picnic. Envelope is included. File also contains a typed translation.
