- Aaron Steinhart was from Ostrowiec, Poland, and lived in Los Angeles, California, in the mid-1940s. He served as the financial secretary of the Ostrowtzer Relief Committee in Los Angeles in 1946 and subsequently assumed the role of president in 1947. Aaron attended the conference of Ostrowtzer societies in September 1946 as a delegate.
- An alternate spelling of his name is Aron or Aran Shteynhart.
- Scope and Content
- File consists of a letter from Aaron Steinhart, financial secretary of the Ostrovtzer Relief Committee Los Angeles, to Max Hartstone, dated 5 February 1947. In this letter, Aaron informs Max about the recent committee elections and lists the names of the officers for 1947. He also mentions the departure of the Valdmans. He informs Max about packages sent to Bergen-Belsen and Sweden and asks for the address of Nahum Hartsl Kleynman. Envelope is included. File also contains a typed translation.
