- Ephraim Harin was from Ostrowiec, Poland. During the liquidation of the Ostrowiec ghetto in 1942, his wife and two sons were taken away. He continued to live in the ghetto for the next six months, working in a factory. He arrived in Italy in mid-1945 and was living in the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA) displaced persons camp in Santa Cesarea, Italy, in the mid-1940s.

- File consists of a letter from Ephraim Harin in Santa Cesrea, Italy, to Max Hartstone, dated 11 June 1946. In this letter, Ephraim describes events in Ostrowiec, where his family, along with others, were sent to Treblinka. He writes about his current situation it Italy, noting the lack help from the UNRRA, and requests assistance from Max. The letter also includes a note from Moishe Rappoport who emphasizes the importance of helping Ephraim due to his age and the impact of losing his family. File also contains a typed translation.
