- Szlama Kuperstik (b. 1921) was born in Ostrowiec, Poland, to Mendl and Devoyre (née Shteynhart). After surviving Sachsenhausen, Auschwitz, Flossenbürg, and Bergen-Belsen, he was brought to Sweden in July of 1945 to recover from an illness. It was in Sågmyra, Sweden, that he met and married a young Jewish woman from Poland named Devoyre in early 1946. Later that same year, Szlama and his wife moved to Kristinehamn, Sweden.
- Alternate spellings of his surname are Kupershtik and Kupersztyk. Alternative spellings of his first name are Shlomo and Shloyme.
- Scope and Content
- File consists of a partial postcard from Szlama Kuperstik in Kristinehamn, Sweden, to the Ostrovtzer Aid Society c/o Max Hartstone, dated 15 August. Szlama writes about the challenges of connect with other Ostrovtzers in Sweden due to the considerable distance between them. He sends greetings from himself and his wife. File also contains a typed translation.
