- Lena “Leahle” Sheinberg (b. 1920) was born Warsaw, Poland, to Szeiny and Dobny (née Nusymowicz). Lena’s father was originally from Opatow and her mother was from Ostrowiec. She had five brothers: David, Arthur, Chaim, Moishe, and Yosl. Lena's wartime journey included traveling to Opole, Poland, in 1940, followed by moving to Ostrowiec in 1941 to live with her aunt and uncle. In 1942, she found herself in Bodzechów, Poland, and briefly returned to Ostrowiec before being deported again in 1943, ultimately ending up in Auschwitz in 1944.
